Bridge Over Long Bien

When I was in Hanoi, Vietnam I did something very cool. I had been feeling a little stagnant with my photography so I decided to do a private tour with a local photographer. I went out with an awesome guy named Mansour, who works for a company called Vietnam in Focus. This ended up being one of my most memorable days in Vietnam.

We started out at 5:00 am to visit this market, Long Bien, which opens at 4:00 am and by 7:00 am the police are rolling through with megaphones clearing the vendors from the sidewalks.

This is where the entire city’s vendors come to get their produce before lugging it back to their respective stall, cart, restaurant, or bike.

We briefly walked through the market and then headed up to a rail bridge to capture the action from above.

Over the course of the next 4 hours, we walked all over the city, through secret alleyways and along the shanties lining the train tracks. Mansour gave us a lot of really cool street photography tips and we had so much fun playing with our cameras and learning from him. This photo is just one of the photos I got from the bridge. I got so many fun photos that day so I’ve decided to focus on putting these photos out there for the next week or two. Stay tuned!
