This is a picture I took during my first trip to Rwanda. I was doing my grad school summer practicum in Uganda with the Flour Fortification Initiative and decided to head out on a little adventure for July 4th weekend. Someday I will tell the whole story, because it was definitely a magical experience and one that would shape my future. But for now, this lake is where I ended up. Lake Kivu. At a little resort town called Gisenyi. Just a mile or so down the road was Goma. But that is for another post.
