Moments of Me

Crystal Stafford,

This is a photo I took while writing in my journal in a dark hotel in Gbadolite. I was writing about how content I was to be in that dark, dirty place. Because it was real. It’s the way people really live near the lowest levels of poverty. Actually, they live in mud huts just around the corner from here, but those huts are much cleaner and cozier than this hotel room was. This place was gross. And I was fine with it. It felt good to be there. It felt SO good to leave behind all of my material comfort possessions and rely only on the joy in my heart from doing what I loved to brighten my existence. This is true happiness. Simplicity. And Truth.
