My Time in the Clouds

Crystal Stafford, Bigu, Nepal

I spent two weeks teaching English to young nuns at a Tibetan Monastery in Nepal. We hiked for three days straight up the foothills of the Himalayas to reach this place, tucked way up high in the clouds. And when I say “In the Clouds” I mean that we were literally in the clouds for two weeks. It was so moist up there that the only way we could get our clothes to dry was to put them on wet and wear them for a couple of hours. And yes, it was COLD.

I took this photo of a local farmer taking a stroll from the vantage point of the monastery.
