In honor of the spring equinox (autumn in the southern hemisphere) here is a photo of the magnificent sunrise just after entering Namib Naukluft Park, on our way to Sossusvlei. Sunrise was an epic time to be in the park. Magical in fact. At this time of year it was also a necessity. After 10 am the sun got too hot and heavy to do anything but sit in the shade and sweat. Or by a pool. That’s what we did with our days between sunrise and sunset sessions.
